Pretty easy Bakab... When you are drafting your post, you will see the "Go Advanced" button. Click that, and use the picture graphic on the tool bar to "Insert Image". That brings up the "Add an Image" box. There you have two tabs: From Computer or From URL. If the pic is on your computer, go to that tab and push the "Select Files" button. Add up to 6 files this way. Push the "Upload Files" button, and they upload. They always upload "Thumbnail" size.

This is "Thumbnail" size

If you hover your pointer over your picture, you will see a pencil graphic pop up on the pic.

Click it, and the "Image Settings" box pops up. There you can select the position of the pic, and the size of the pic. Select "Large" or "Full" and hit "Save." Then hit the "Preview Post" Button, and you will see what your post pics look like in the top "Preview" frame.

This is "Full" size

You may have to scroll up to see the Preview frame. You can adjust the size until you are satisfied, then hit "Submit Reply."

You don't have to save the file to your computer first... you can provide the Universal Resource Locater (URL) to the pic instead. In this case, you right-click and copy the URL of the pic you want to insert:

Paste it into the "URL" block on the "Add an Image" pop-up, "From URL" Tab

Here the box is checked, the proper way to link a picture.

There is a check-mark box that says "Retrieve remote file and reference locally." If you leave that that checked, you will pull a copy of the pic down to our server... that way, your link links back to our server instead of the remote one.

But, if it is UN-checked, you are "Cross" or "Hot" linking the image. Ever notice the "Photo-bucket has deleted or moved the file" place holder instead of a pic? That's because someone "Hot Linked" to a pic, and it is not there any more. Hot linking uses THAT site's bandwidth, and most web masters get upset about that because they pay by the byte for bandwidth.

This has nothing to do with how to link an image... I just think he's cool! <G>

I don't get the size issue nor the imagining methods being used. All I do is upload a picture to photobucket and copy/paste URL link and my pictures come out great. I've never had to set a size setting and have been doing this for 5+ years. I wonder if this is a personal setting option in your SVTO user account?

Alright, lets work on resizing your pictures with Photobucket.

Above each uploaded picture is a small tool bar...Click on the Edit button.

photobucketIa.jpg

You will see your image along with an additional larger tool box above it...Click on the resize button

photobucketI.jpg

You will then be presented with some resizing options. I would suggest maxing them out and let the forum's resizing setting adjust them to fit the forum. Once you finished resizing you will be asked to replace or save with a copy. Selecting replace will original uploaded picture with the new settings. Choosing save with copy with leave the original and create a new picture with the new settings. I suggest if you save with copy, adding a title to indicate either one is the original or the other is a copy/test etc image.

Interesting I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat. The problem I always have when I try to copy and paste the URL is that all that shows up is all the HTML coding... no picture. I will have to play with it, now that I know that it should work. Thanks!
