Maybe I just have big feet? Hood release latch...

Evidently, I tend to catch the hood release with my feet as I exit the vehicle. I've only owned the vehicle for a couple weeks, and for the sixth or seventh time now, I've gone out to the truck and get the "Hood Ajar" message. I don't remember ever hitting the release with my feet as I exit, but the hood is certainly popped up.

Is this common?

No. I suspect you have a defective hood latch. A visit to your dealer is in order.

I'm 6'3" with size 13 EEE feet and have never had that happen in 15 months. Something isn't right.

Umm this kept happening to me - it was my foot. Put a piece of duct tape over the latch. I bet it stops happening. I’ve learned not to touch it with my foot now.

This happened to me a few times. Typically when I am releasing the parking brake.

I have considered taping over it to see if it's just me or not... The latch is REALLY easy to pull by hand, so I am thinking it just isn't offering a lot of resistance and the slightest brush will pop it.

I'm now extra cautious when I get out of the truck and haven't had it happen again.

On my Wrangler, I have those stick-on door sill protectors, and my feet catch those every damn time.

I think it's just me and my goofy clown shoes.
