I know everybody on here is "wrap it, wrap it, wrap it." But I don't care about resell value or anything like that. My truck sits in the sun constantly (won't fit in the garage). I want to know everybody's opinion on paint or wrap. Be completely honest. I plan to get it dirty either way. I want it to last though. I would also like to get some quotes (paint guys out there). Keep in mind that my truck is orange so if a wrap has problems then it will look AWFUL. I want it to be professionally done with the best materials. Thanks guys.

Right now I'm leaning towards matte gray paint instead of wrap.

Gray is one of my top choices for Raptor colors. If I were to have it painted gray, I would go with Toyota "Cement Gray". If you've ever seen an FJ or Scion painted Cement Gray, in the sun, I think you would agree. Check it out, Good luck.

I do like that color but I want to stand out. I don't want my friends to come up to me and say, "Hey, I saw that color on some japanese ride the other day."

i've been debating the same. i'm actually going to have my buddy dip mine. just have to take her down to maryland for the job. looking at a combat grey or a black pearl gunmetal he mixed up for his rims...color looks sick! he's done a ton of trucks, cars etc, all have help up well, on and offroad. price is much much less than a wrap as well. plus if i get sick of it, i won't be pissed about the money i dropped on a dip vs a wrap...peeling it off would be a breeze. i've heard of a couple occasions where guys have pulled off wrap and taken off clear coat with it...rare instance though.

wrap it. You are crazy to paint as a proper paint job would be well over 10K. And a proper paint job means removing the windshield and every thing else on the car. And if you mess up a body panel with a wrap you just rewrap that panel.

Here's a lambo with a grey military wrap:

Please if you ever offroad your truck do yourself a favour and buy a wrap much easier to repair a couple panels with a new sheet of vinyl then it is re painting it everytime you go out the smallest branches will screw the matte finish and leaving shiny spots ... I'm a painter and I always reccomend my own customers get a wrap somewhere else for their own sake when it comes to matte

You do not want Matte Paint on a car that sits outside. Its a nightmare to deal with matte paint. Get a 3m wrap and you will be much happier.

I just got my white 2014 Screw wrapped in matte silver...looks great IMO and turned out exactly as I wanted. i used the plastidip spray to hit some of the tougher to reach areas. I'm completely satisfied with the materials and the installation. I posted a thread about it on here somewhere.

Combat gray raptor, same color as that lambo.

If your truck is orange you will probably want to get the door jambs wrapped as well or you'll see the orange through the cracks and it will look funny. That's going to drive the price up. Be careful who you choose to do the work. Do your research, call around and talk to different vendors. It's pretty easy for any joe-schmoe to start a car wrapping business and I've seen some ****-poor jobs including wrecked autos.
