Low engine oil pressure

Burned, I don't think so. Eaten, more likely. They service department topped it off before the consumption test at 1800mi, and marked the dipstick. It is reading low at the moment. No smoke, no signs other than "maybe" some power loss. Hence why I am now calling my truck a lemon. Its already been backed into(rear wheel, slight scratches) and a nice half dollar sized door ding. Soooo, I now get to have a discussion with Ford and my dealership about how I ordered a truck that was supposed to get me from A to B and not be in the shop once a month. If they come back and need to swap an engine the conversation will turn more serious, in that I ordered a truck with specific matching numbers and not a new truck with a newer engine, better get a new one built before my lawyer files. But this is all just typing until I have an answer next week.

Well, the Raptor is making oil disappear. With no visible signs of a leak, and no smoke out the tailpipe, it must be a hungry machine. It is at service now, so maybe by end of day I will get an update, or just more disappointment.

Modern vehicles do not have matching numbers. The old days when the VIN was on the chassis, motor, and trans are long gone.

Oil just doesn't disappear. If it is not leaking out, then it is burned. You may not notice the smoke if you aren't paying attention, but if you are 2 qts low at 1500 miles, then I would be surprised if you don't see it, or smell it.

So to continue, Raptor has been in service since Monday morning. PCV has no residue from oil, plugs look good, compression test is fine... So where is the oil going? ... No smoke, no smell, no truck... Though I did get a case number from Ford. Owned since March, been in shop a total of 9 days over two service drops, and no idea when I will get it back.

One month in Ford service, many calls to Ford, one actual call with Ford Regional Service manager and no contact one week later after they said they would contact me to discuss the compensation process, my truck sits in wait. So I talked to local service manager on Thursday May 25th and he told me they were doing everything they could to expedite this problem. On the 26th, I spoke with Jeff, Ford's regional service manager our of Chicago, he tells me they dropped the ball and should have been made aware of my case number way sooner, but for some reason it wasn't elevated to him. He apologized and said he would make sure the field service techs would get to my truck immediately. Four hours later the local service manager, who was texting the wrong number thinking it was mine, notified that a new engine was ordered. So once I dropped the lemon comment, they went to lengths to assure that the truck would not be one, by changing the entire problem out. It has been in service since May 8th(second drop off concerning consumption). No oil leaks were ever found in exhaust, pcv system, piston heads, etc. What a long ordeal, but now I get to wait to see if my local Ford can successfully replace an engine without a hiccup. Oh and the new engine(not a reman) ships on the 11th... I guess I have a resolution at least, and the dealership says they will trade it without devaluation from the replaced engine. I did love the truck post purchase, prior to problems. Should I trade it for an 18?

Why not? I would in a heart beat. , If they give you full value in trade, its a no brainer. Plus a fresh start for all your inconvenience

Unless you are absolutely attached to something on the 17 model that you can't get on the 18, I would get the newer year. It'll help you in the end since it's a year newer if you plan on selling it at some point. I would even see about having them highly discount a maintenance or warranty plan for your troubles as well. You may have to talk to the regional manager about that however
