Putting a longer travel/different suspension kit under the Raptor is no different then putting a bigger, better supercharger on a GT500. Not sure why (some) people are so hung up against modifying the suspension on the Raptor. No one gets upset if someone puts a whipple, or a clutch, or gears, or cams, or turbos, or spray, or fuel pumps, or seats, or a stroked motor, or cnc'd heads, or heat exchanger, or tires, or suspension, or brakes, in/on a brand new Cobra. So why's the Raptor gotta stay stock? I can only get excited over a shorty antenna and floor mats for so long. If I had the money, a longer travel suspension would be on my "things to do soon" list.

But I probably wont be buying from Brenthel anytime soon since they can't even return an email.

Wonder why Brenthel says their 2009+ 4wd F150 kit is capable of 17" of travel but the Raptor's is 16"? It's probably the same damn kit.

Its not the same as an upgrade, its a replacement. If you take a GT500, do an full engine swap, and a tranny swap, replace the suspension, and reupholster the interior? Its not an upgrade like wheels, tires and brakes, its a total replacement of 98% of what makes a Raptor a Raptor, and everything the SVT spent thier time and money to get just right

So the fenders, bed sides, seats, gauges, hd motor mounts, splash proof degass bottle, unique to the raptor 6.2 engine, exhaust, clearance lights, longer/stronger rear axle housing, higher spline count axles, skid plate, front bumper, rear bumper, grille, up fitter switches, wheels, tires, 4.11's, hood, different chassis, e-locker, hd half shafts, steering wheel, electronics/tune, drive shaft heat shield, only make up 2% of the Raptor and SVT didn't spend any money developing said above items?

You don't get ANY of those unique items I listed when you buy a regular F150.

There's more to the truck then just the suspension. Sure, the suspension is what the truck is pretty much about, just like the supercharged 5.4 is what the GT500 is all about. Changing the suspension would be an upgrade to the truck as a WHOLE.

Your money,

If you compare the cost of a equally loaded Fx4 to the Raptor, your getting the suspension system for free. Not like I'm ripping out a 10,000 dollar suspension and shit canning it.

I'm with pirate on this one. The stock front suspension is better then regular f-150's but far from a true long travel setup. Just look at what the engineers did to us with the rear springs (nothing). In due time, I will fully upgrade the suspension.

What you're doing is what Ford should have done in the 1st place!

I agree and I'm sure there are a handful of SVT engineers that do as well. From what I have heard the engineers wanted to have more travel up front and Deavers in the rear but stupid laywers put the nix on the plans. I love the arguments that "that is the way Ford designed and engineered the truck so I'm not going to change it." Ever wonder what the hundreds of lawyers at Ford have to say about design and potential lawsuits? The lawyers have more control over what gets put in the marketplace than the engineers and designers do.
