Anyone installed a 2FG by themselves no lift? I have a couple ramps I could use I think. I’m not super tech savvy but it looks like 6 bolts basically.

Just did mine today. I'm about 6'3" 245ish and fit underneath it even on a crawler so I could move around easier.

Everything is straight forward, but I did have to remove the tips to install the 2fg...i dont know if anyone else knows a way around it. I'd advise taking the tips off first instead of the instructions advising to loosen the muffler on the opposite side. The reason being is once I loosened the tips the entire muffler drooped and kind of pinched itself about the back diff, and it was a MOTHER F***ER to get the muffler off of the tips then. If I hadn't of loosened the front up this wouldn't have been an issue, but I was following instructions.

I basically lifted up the muffler with one hand and had it sitting on a jack stand (still awkward) and man handled the tips until they came loose. I can promise you I'll be sore tomorrow because its hell on your shoulders--and I'm not new to wrenches.

Entire install took about 2.5 hours. Honestly would have been a lot quicker if I had help or didnt have the tip issue. Love the sound, but it doesnt sound like the video for me.

Josh, my AWE 2FG doesnt sound like the video--do these things "settle" in tone or no? I didnt really think they would since it's just piping and not a muffler, but I'm curious.

It's not that it's a bad thing, I honestly love it at idle, has a very deep grumble and sounds like my RAM did. On half or WOT it is VERY loud and the tone changes completely. 100% does NOT sound like a Honda or 4 banger though, just in case anyone is worried...

But I'm curious if it deepens after a couple hundred miles...either way I am very pleased with the product, it sounds better than anything else I've put on it and I've tried a lot. If you're stuck between the 2FG and the 1 or 0, get the 2FG. Again I can not reiterate how loud it is under heavy throttle, she screams. Turns heads. I wouldn't want it any louder. No drone, at idle or cruise I cant even hear it. Its noticeable in the cab when lightly on the gas but pleasant. I dont know if I've said this enough, but when you punch it...its loud

So, anyone or Josh know if tone changes on the 2FG after "break in"?

The only break in would be in the resonators that you don't have. If you only have the h pipe then thats what its going to sound like.

That's what I figured. Again to anyone looking at this setup, I do love it. I've noticed the sound I was talking about at WOT (wide open throttle) is dependent on what gear I'm in or it downshifts to. Everyday driving it's a deeper tone and not farty at all, and in line with what it sounds like on AWE video.

WOT is more of a Rrrrraaaaaappppppp (I'm sure that helped no one) while progressive but hard pedal push to the floor sounds in line with the video. I just took a 30 minute drive around town and was testing different variables.

I'll upload a video as well with my thoughts, I'll try to get to it tomorrow but it may be early next week.

I did my install on the ground also... couldn’t get the driver side tip to align perfect. With only myself it’s tough.

Relative to sound... I’ll keep it installed but the AWE video is like the Fyre Festival. It sounds nowhere near as good as AWE is making us think it sounds.. no you can’t hear turbos or bovs recircing etc. I’m adding downpipes eventually and will see what that does but def a bit dissapointed vs their video.

1- Cold start idle from behind the truck
2- Camera behind the truck, accelerating normally away
3- Camera behind the truck, WOT away
4- Warm idle from behind the truck

More and more people say it's nothing like the AWE video, which is disappointing. Whatever they did to it sounded incredible.

I did this install of the 2FG this past weekend you definitely have to remove the tips on both sides. Makes it alot easier. Took about same time as CrotchCritter 2.5 hours to complete.

I agree with everyone else at startup its a nice growl, but when your moving its a total different sound especially at WOT, not like the AWE video sound at all.

Although, right now... even if it’s at the end of the spectrum that I’m fearing it actually is... I’ll probably still be ordering it regardless.

See if this works, go in and change setting to use 1080 if possible for best sound.
