I just installed the 1fg yesterday. It sounds like the CJ Pony video and not like the AWE video at all. Lots of drone in the cab and has a terrible blaat sound on initial take off. Once it’s up in the higher rpm’s fully pinned it sounds pretty good. I’ll be switching it to the 2fg version to see if it’s any better. Currently the drone is very tiring driving around town.

I had the exact same problem after mine was installed last Friday. I did contact the customer service at AWE and was told to let the exhaust breaking in for 800-1000 mile. They also mentioned that they call out 40 ft-lbs as their minimum but feel free to go tighter if you are experiencing any leaks. I'll double check all the clamps, making sure no gaps in the meantime.

Fiancees said she loves the new exhaust sound. She thought the stock exhaust was weak. We need to get married.

Update: I'm happy to report that 400 miles after the installation, the sound has settled, became deeper and deeper, and most of the drones were gone (except 1 notable drone between 45-55 mph). I was surprised that breaking in the exhaust would have so much impact on the volume, tone, and frequency/drone. Hopefully, that last drone would be gone in another 400 miles!!

Anybody running a 2fg that spends a lot of time in the 50 to 60 mph range on a flat road? I had a TRD Pro exhaust on my tundra that sounded good everywhere but there and it bothered me with the windows up. If I had my windows down the drone helicopter feeling was gone.

Those of you installing the exhaust...you REALLY need to drive it and let it break in. The sound has changed alot since I installed it. It's gotten a little quieter and much smoother. There is no drone in this setup. Just drove 2 hours on the highway and this is when it's most quiet. Lower rpm at about 40mph it's just very deep since it's in 10th gear, which is when it appears to be the most audible. Planning on making a DSLR video this weekend and it should be well broken in by then I think

Josh, for new orders will they come quicker ordering from you directly or from CJ? Any particular reason nobody else seems to be carrying this kit?

Given our successful history with them and our Ford Focus lineup, we did another co-op launch with them which allowed them to be the only ones who had stock of the Raptor line pre-launch.

Now, since the Raptor launch has been so wildly successful, we’re getting hit from all sides with requests from other Raptor parts retailers. We service direct orders as they come in.

In a few weeks time, you’ll see many other retailers having these parts in stock, too.
