I searched a bit and didn't come up with this specifically.

Typically I black out my vehicles. Painting all possible trim gloss black to match the vehicle. With the Raptor, I think that would take away too much of the ruggedness. I've seen pics of a few on here that are all one color and they look great, but unless they are parked next to a 'normal' 150 they don't seem to pop as much.

So an idea I had was to line-x (or similar) the flares, and grille.....aftermarket bumpers in a line-x finish to follow.

I'm not very familiar with the product though....is it something I can do? Will it hold up on plastic parts? With it change color/fade?

Thanks for any info, suggestions, pics etc.

Thanks!

Very cool, but it looks like you have to take the stuff to a line-x guy to get it done.

Thanks!

So I took the cheaper version to see if I liked it. Had a guy plasti-dip all the fenders, flares, badges, rims, etc. Basically everything that was gray is now matte black. I really like it. It is not as durable obviously. He did 5 applications. At any time you can peel the whole thing off. Had it for about 2 month's. Been through 4 washes, and 3 trips to my hunting ranch. I have dinged up about 4 different places. Took it by last week and patched it all. Looks great again. Total cost including labor was $500. I am confident line-x would look better and be 100 times more durable, but cost thousands. I am getting tons of compliments. The flat matte looks great with my terrain. Go the idea off this forum. Just a thought. It allowed me to save money and do my exhaust and supercharger. At least a small part of it.

Check that cost. Had to go back and look at invoice. He did a bunch of other stuff for that total. Total for paint was $350. He somehow used the plastidip in a custom paint sprayer. Did the fenders, bumpers, rims, badges, grill, and fender wells. I will try to take some pics. Mostly labor cost I am sure. 5 full coatings.

You can buy the sprayer they make for Plasti Dip and do it yourself. There was someone that just did the hood that way and looked great.

I am taking my new SDHQ trophy bumper to be LineX coated. Also going to do the wheel wells and thinking about the fender flares but probably hold of on those till I get glass fenders/bedsides. Also going to have my exhaust tips coated.

I blacked out all my grey with black plastidip. Looks great from 10 feet away. Would really like to do a flat white Line X when I get back to the states.

I'm still leaning the line-x route. I'm sure the flat plasti dip looks great. I just couldn't handle the dings.

Some day, haha. Thanks for the input!!
