Quick question. I got my bed sprayed with line x platinum this afternoon. Pretty cold in Fort Worth. When I left, I live in Dallas, they advised I leave the tail gate down. I just went out, about 6 hours later to close, and now when I try and close my gate, i feel like I'm almost slamming it closed to get it to shut. Maybe it will change with the temperature? Wondering if the assist works fine with liners? A bit concerned.

^Well brother while Line-X is the best liner out there (cough* fact). It really depends on whoever sprayed your bed if they had a heavy hand or not. Those who spray it should maintain the 0.05mm tolerances, especially at Bed Bolts and should be taping off sharply with the wire tape.

At any rate congrats on getting the Platinum! XS-330 is pretty nice stuff, I know its awesome.

OP,
My tailgate took a little more force to close with the Linex but it hasn't caused any problems. I also added the DeeZee Tailgate Assist and it works flawlessly. You should be fine with both. Good luck.

Thanks. The only thing that's noticeable is the shove and then to open there is a click when opening with extra effort.

Take the EZ-DOWN off and see if it still does it, they might have removed it for spraying and set it up wrong on install, as dumb as it sounds.

So it turns out that it was the rubber stoppers because of the spray on the tail gate. He cut about 1/8 inch off and it is better. Still a little different than stock but if we cut into the rubber more the tailgate may rattle.

Probably won't rattle, the latches keep it from rattling.

I have Linex and the tailgate assist, and there's no difference or binding on mine...I bet they got yours a bit thick on an area near the edge...Maybe try opening/closing slowly and try to find the binding then try to trim it a bit...
