Lightning with Raptor bits

It is weird with no engine sounds, its so quiet all you hear is the rocks kicking off body.

seems cool and all. don't try to jump it like a raptor. that frame will be toast with the extra weight and that range is going to be absolutely pitiful.

now if its for show and isn't going to see much in the way of true off-roading it'll be fine. but again range is the key for a off-road designed machine.

The range yeah it’s gonna blow…. But we have no clue what TSW did in the rear end. Not saying it’s on parr with stock raptor, we just don’t the specs on the build yet

Watched the video. Only question I’m left with is…why?

EV powertrains are not superior to ICE powertrains, despite what the media and frauds like the muskrat will try and convince people of. They just have different attributes and each have their strengths and weaknesses.

In terms of this modified Lightning, a real Raptor outperforms it in every respect. It has the same horsepower as a Gen 2/3, yet it weighs 300lbs more before adding on all of the suspension components and 35” tires. It has a factory rated maximum range of 230 miles, and once again that’s before all of the modifications. You’d be lucky to get 75 miles of range driving it the way they were in the video. Note that the “Pro” is the contractor/entry level model, so for $60k you’re essentially getting a base model.

The other thing about EVs that doesn’t fit the Raptor is that they’re sterile. No sound, no emotion, no visceral experience. Just the annoying whine of an electric motor that increases in pitch proportional to speed.

I think the "why" is just because that is what humans do. People are always tinkering with things. If I recall correctly, they talked about putting raptor suspension on expeditions and something else in the beginning of the video. Just doing it to do it. Agreed on all your other points though. Not practical.

Yea I guess I should have stated it differently. The “why” is just because, the result is it just doesn’t make sense.

They’re just nodding it because they want to. It’s in their DNA like a lot of us in here, always wanting to tweak and mod. Would i take this over a stock lightning, ABSOLUTELY. Yes, not practical, but not a lot, if any EV ‘s are yet…. The technology obviously just isn’t there yet. I think it’s pretty cool though. If all you want is to take it to rally ready or other short course raptor runs, it’s perfectly fine.
