Titan TAK-1 Forged wheel. Actual weight of the wheel is 21.5 lbs. Titan claims 20.4. Not sure I have seen a better forged wheel for the price.

These look awesome! If I was going forged, these would probably be the ones

I got these tires with some 24.5 lbs wheels on the way.

14.8 mpg with some venmorex 17 601s and KM3s. Dropped nearly 2 mpg average when I came off the stock tire K02s. That being said KM3 has been great, at 30,000 miles they have more than half their tread left. The K02s were dead at 30k (one side wall had a hole in it too). I just want to feel better knowing I’ll get slightly better mpgs, which won’t offset the 2200 dollars for the new wheel/tire package. But I’m a ***** so I NEEEEED IT! I’ll report back once I’ve poked some holes in these lightweight tires and go back to the KM3sAE21C7F7-AAB6-44A1-8CFB-8236E1210D43.jpeg

Thanks for the update. Seems like every day I change my mind on tires. And at the end of the day, I can’t complain at all about my KO2s. I still have plenty of tread left at 42,*** miles and the newest version have an even higher speed rating and are a bit lighter even.

The D load Duratracs definitely do seem like a good compromise of added load capacity if needed without completely ruining the plush ride.
It’s so weird how differ people report such differing tread left. On my last Gen2 which I traded with 28k mikes, the KO2 which I think are excellent were within 5k miles of having any tread remaining.

As for those light wheels, what is the weight of the OEM? Would they hold up on my weekly Costco runs? I do bump over the bollard in the parking lot, you know. lol.

KO2 load range c ran out in a New York Minute for me @MDJAK. Not much if any off-road, mostly jumping park g blocks at Sam’s/Costco.

Haven’t tried E’s, etc yet, but for the price and out of round problems reported with BFG, I am happy I went with General Grabbers.

Got em. About 14lbs lighter than my km3 601 setup. They are the exact same height as my km3 35x12.5 with half tread. There is a significant difference on width. The offset is on my new wheels is only 6mm difference but I think the tire is way thinner. They are actually well inside the wheel well. They look stock which is ok for a eco/comfort setup. I drove about 3 miles so far. Seems fine, defiantly less heavy in the steering. More noise than new K02s but slightly less than my KM3s… maybe hard to tell.

Thanks TIRERACK for putting 50 psi in every tire you wankers and putting a metal valve in one of four of the tires, and damage to one of the wheels. Fricken kids these days.

@8WOOD Can we get an update on your experience so far? I'm really considering these tires. I remember putting RPF1s on my GTI and the feel of the car was substantially different.

May want to consider the Toyo ATIII in Load Range C...

Sure,

I’m about 5,000 miles on them. One road trip from Cali to Idaho.

1.Noise, they are quiet but have a unique hummm/vibration to them which makes them somewhat annoying. If you don’t like drone/noise def avoid. Not as loud as my KM3, but just annoying. Stock K02s when new are way quieter.

2. Handling on road: not as sharp as K02s but still very good. They eliminated the wandering feel at speed that my km3s exhibited. They are little jarring even at 28psi. K02s def had the best onroad comfort even at 38psi.

3. Handling off-road: it’s hard for me to compare them to the K02s since I just came off KM3s which in my opinion are king for off-road performance. They slide all over the place compared to my km3s when hauling butt on gravel and dirt, but it’s very confident, predictable, and fun! I remember when I switched to KM3s how hard it was to break the truck loose on gravel, so they may perform similar to K02s. For rocks they are very very grippy, but I didn’t do a whole lot of that this trip.

4. Wear, they seems to be holding out very good for 5k miles and above average off-road abuse. Actually way better than I expected for how soft they are. No side wall damage yet, though I have to admit I haven’t had it through any real rough sharp rock gardens. I destroyed two wheels of k02s (both replaced under warranty btw)

5. Gas mileage: this is what I didn’t expect and what makes them a win. My average gas gone up a whole 2MPGs! I’m almost averaging 17mpg now with a SVC bumper!

6: PSI for my scab. I’ve found that running them at 30 psi is good for onroad. Anything over that, they run super stiff and don’t grip as well or corner as well. A SCREW will need more psi since it’s like 600lbs heavier. I ran my KM3s at 26 psi overall (this is based on their axel weight guide, which seems spot on). I ran k02s about the same psi, though when running the k02s at the max recommended of 38 (for max towing btw) they seemed to still ride smooth.

Overall, I’d say if gas mileage is your priority, this tire has absolutely been worth it. It’s not the best tire I’ve ran for performance, but overall I’m liking it and it seems to be wearing very slowly. If you don’t care about mileage… def get something else. If I do any extreme off-road days, I’d be mounting up my KM3s.

Update.... I have 15,000 miles on these tires now. I love them. The overall grip is very good offroad comparable to the stock K02s, but they are WAY more quiet and they seem to be more quiet the more they wear. Their handling has also improved over time. The most beneficial performance of these tires is discovered when driving in the wet. This tires are the best wet performing offroad "mud hybrid tire" I've used on pavement and on light offroad. 15,000 miles and these tires still show a lot of tread. I suspect they will go 40-50k.

Now if you are bombing through the Baja and going through higher risk offorad excursions, i wouldn't run these. They are too light and softer than even the stock k02s. So if you are a mall crawler or only occasionally offorad, you should get these. If you want to spend the weekend rallying in the desert get heavy duty KM3s... or similar.

I have a complete wheel/km3 setup for when I occasional try to go break an axel or a shock mount.
