Very interesting, that is a significant weight saving where it matters the most.

I'm interested in this, as well... especially once the caliper upgrade is available.

I like the concept but in my opinion drilled rotors on an off road application/ daily driver is a mistake. In the dirt/mud the holes will likely pack with dirt. As a daily driver the are prone to cracking. Zinc plating adds a couple of more issues. #1 zinc is a lubricant. #2 adding zinc plating to heat treated steel can cause hydrogen embrittlement. Hydrogen embrittlement would cause a catastrophic failure to the rotor.

The ideal would be either slotted or slotted and dimpled with no plating.

Nice find. I'm usually all for running OE stuff to avoid other bs, but more worthy weight savings there.

Unlike others in the R1 threads, I've never found my Gen1 brakes to be a hindrance during any of our runs, time attack, etc. Nearly all the cars i've owned had BBK too, so also appreciate them not squealing when its below 40*, wearing in one season, or making wheels into a police crime scene for dusting. That all said, someone get on the guinea piggin'!

I'm in complete agreement slotted / dimpled only but most, maybe not you, will want them zinc'd

The rust ring is awful to look at and typically larger on a 2 piece due to design

name brand slotted/drilled rotors havent had cracking issues for year, thats a very old theory.
