Just passed the technicians exam. It's pretty easy, I spent a whole 20 dollars for it. 5 for the iPone app and 15 when I passed. Now just need to find a radio, I'm thinking an ICOM 2820H.

Congrats Jayne!!! So simple to get licensed, and so much available after you do.
I am waiting for Yaesu to get a new FTM-400DR so I can replace my FT-8800R and get into APRS.

I like that combo better than the Icom you mentioned.

I originally ran a Comet SBB-7 on a Maldol Motorized mount at the right rear of the bed. Nice tall antenna with the convenience of a power folder. Too bad I kept forgetting to fold it down... stripped gears out of the mount and broke off the upper loading coil from a low heavy snowy tree.

Now I have a Comet CA-2x4SR behind the left side of the cab on a fabbed mount. Haven't broken it yet.

Hey onesickpuppy, this coming weekend is the 10m ARRL contest. Propagation has been decent lately, maybe I'll catch ya on the air?
