I am retired LEO, we have had 4 Raptors all with leather seats. We have 2 Dobermans and found putting rubber backed rugs save the seats while they in the trucks. Also have had other trucks Fords, GMC and Dodges none compare with the 18 Raptor my wife drives or the 18 Shelby Baja Raptor I drive. Good luck brother!

Lol- funny I agree on both counts & just detailed the interior on my gen 2 thanks to my single Dobie who seems to lose her red hairs 3x the pace as the black ones lol

I have an 801a so can’t comment on 802a seats but the leather in my 801a has held up awesome after over a year & 24k miles w/ my dobie jumping in front seat every chance she gets.

I found an 801a 2018 leftover w/ a bunch of awesome “a la carte” options ticked off that make it kinda like 801.5a - torsen front diff, tailgate appliqué, side mirror spots, tailgate step, pano roof, sync3 w/ nav, forged beadlocks, BLIS, etc. that bridged the gap between 801 and 802- now that some of the tech package options are standard on 802a not sure how much that changes things.

I would never recommend cloth seats in a DD esp one that goes offroad and jumps- dog hairs “pierce” lil holes in fabric & impossible to fully clean w/o using duct tape lol- all it takes is one bad spill/stain & that’s all she wrote- permanent eye sore.

that being said i purposely avoided 802a trucks cuz I hate the intrusive lane keep assist & despise push botton keyless remote start shit - POINTLESS

I think you could get a great deal on an 800a truck but would also compare to an 801a & consider getting katzkin covers on an 800a base

I have a 2019 SCREW. The space in the back seat and ability to fold them up for a flat cargo floor is one of the main reasons I bought the truck. Everyone that rides back there agree it's the most spacious rear seat they've ever sat in.

I don't have a big dog, but why not fold the back seats up when they're riding with you? Seems like the golden ticket.

I have a 2018 FX4 Sport Lariat that, frankly, I thoroughly enjoy. I have absolutely zero issues with the truck. BUTT, I had a 2014 Gen 1 that I should never have sold. And now I'm trying to convince "what's-her-name" that while we don't need a Raptor, considering we have a perfectly good truck with only 18K miles on the odo, I think we should help support our dealer and buy a 2019 SCREW that's on their lot. So far I've had little success...

They will have to pry my cold hands off the steering wheel before I'd sell my 2014 Whippled Gen1...owner for 1 1/2 years and still have a shit eating grin every time I start it up....wont say what happens when I step on the gas....:D

The leather is very nice. We just fold up a rear seat and let (make) the dog stay on the floor. I am also paranoid about the dog f'ing up the leather. Got 1 kid that plays sports, crew cab is nice for carrying stuff, i.e. the wife, kid and baseball stuff or dog.

My 100 pound Dutch destroyer police dog likes chewing on leather :), plus I’ve always been a cloth seat fan. I hate how leather wears and fades. My favorite seats of all time were the suede seats in my lightning.

The space in the screw with the seats folded up is nice for sure but my big boy fits perfect in the scab with the seats folded up as well. Usually he rides in the bed in a gunner kennel though. Safest bet.
