I have a 40inch rigid that I am going to take offf my existing Raptor, and install on the 2018 when it comes in. since your bars are 40 inches, do you think there will be any issues getting it to fit?

You will not be able to fit a 40" Rigid bar behind the grille of the Gen 2 trucks without modification to or removal of the grille shutters.

If you're open to another solution, we have put together a kit that works. Our kit will use a light bar mount with a secondary mount to allow the 40" Rigid to fit.

Here is a picture of the mount with a 30" Rigid Bar, but our version will allow fitment of a 40" bar:

Note: This light bar mount will require some modification/cutting of the factory plastic bumperette pieces for proper fitment.

Please let me know if you'd like additional information or pricing for this kit.

Hi,

The M&R 40'' is slim, I think it's depth 1".

I'm not sure if it comes, but you might do some modification like cutting or canceling the grille shutters.

by the way, does any one knows what is the functionality of the shutters? I think It must be open all the time.

good luck.

The grille shutters help with mpg by making the truck more aerodynamic on the highway and open/close at different speeds and also keeps the engine at optimal temp no matter the outside ambient temp.

Does anyone know if the Baja Designs S8 behind the grill can fit with an intercooler upgrade kit?

Would love to put an S8 behind the grill and also do the IC upgrade in order to be able to have a winch.

has a big asterisk won’t fit if you have the adaptive cruise control relication kit installed.

Is that active cruise control relication kit required if you do the intercooler upgrade but retain the oem bumper?

After installing the Full Race (ADD branded intercooler), I can say that I would have no idea how that would ever fit. I had the M&R thin (<3/4" thick) 40" bars and had to take those out because there wasn't room.

I almost ordered the 30" S8 kit to install at the same time as when I was doing the intercooler swap because I took their disclaimer of it not fitting with the ADD adaptive cruise relocation bracket as it would work with the aftermarket FMIC as long as you didn't relocate the cruise sensor. I added a winch behind the factory bumper so I didn't need to relocate the sensor. So I think that they need to change their disclaimer.

But I would love to be proven wrong...

Thanks for the info, thats a bummer though, I also would like to do the IC upgrade so that I can install a winch under the factory bumper. Please post some pics of your setup. Did you use the VR10s? Id prefer to use a Zeon 12S but I read somewhere that it wont fit.

I guess another light bar option would be to use one of the putco luminix light bar like in the pic above. If I go that route I would probably mount it on top of the bumper instead (just under the grill). Hopefully it can still provide good illumination.

Yeah buddy! Now you’re talking! I’ve spent a lot of time lately designing a mount system to use the Warn Zeon 10S Platinum. I’ve got an awesome one made. I’m actually using a Zeon 12s Platinum, as they are the same physical size. It's a slick package. Oh, and I didn't even need to remotely mount the control box on the winch, or cut anything on the truck except for a minor hidden edge of the skidplate.

But back to lights...my most recent revision can hold two of the flush mount Baja Designs Squadron Pros along side the fairlead, behind that lower grill.

Send me a PM if you’d like to chat about it.

Here are a few teaser shots!
