going to have our wyoming run this year august 1st-3rd. we meet up just outside lander wy and have 2 fun filled days of high speed offroading, sand dunes, and GIANT, scoops of ice cream. if you want to join us sign up here. this is not an organized event, meaning no sponsors. we camp on blm, however lander is 20min away if you want to get a room instead.
friday/ leave around 11:00 head to the carissa mine where you can tour the mine (2pm) and/or visit the town. it is being restored and is pretty cool to walk into the old buildings the actual mine tour is at 2pm if you want to go into the mine. there is a fee for both. i think the town fee is $5. i will have to verify. after that, we head back to camp get back around 5 or 6 pm where some start dinner, and some (me) blow shit up. its wyoming. bring a gun (or few) to shoot.
saturday/ big day. we leave around 10am and head to the kilpecker sand dunes. depending on issues @WyoStorm, @Rick at FMS, me.... we should get to the dunes around 3pm. all dirt with the exception of an 8mile highway run. play in the dunes for a while and then head to farson where i dare anyone of you to finish a double scoop of ice cream. finally its a 2 hour trek back to camp on highway. usually everyones done with dirt, however there is a turn off if anyone wants to take dirt on the way back. we time it so we can all stop at a turnoff at sunset. the view is phenomenal. @dj30417 @Jhollowell you both have pictures of the red desert/red valley. my phone got ran over by a car last year so i dont have pics we get back to camp almost at dark where most people are worn out, but there is a short loop where we can run for anyone wanting to do a night run.
sunday/most people pack up and head out because they got their fill of dirt, however there are short trips we can make for those that want to still run. and shoot. you can go target shooting if you choose. i will bring a clay thrower and you can try to beat the champ @AngelMomma101 if you some how beat her, you gotta beat me.
