The leading edge behind the front wheel is likely to snag obstacles rather than deflect. The main body of the running board is made from flat stock and not tubular. The aluminum bottom will likely get ripped off when drug over an obstacle. They say it will support the weight of the truck but I am skeptical with only two frame mounting points. I don't see a location where a Hi-Lift could be used to jack up the truck. My $.02

I designed the forward part like that to help protect the body from rock ect coming off the front tires and hitting the body. The lower skids are 1/4 in aluminum and bolted with 5/16 bolts-they definately will not be ripped off. All the frame mounting brackets are made from 1/4 in steel and are designed to spread the load out on the frame but do NOT hang below the frame rail. I incorperated square tube into the outer edge of the design for strength along with a skeleton concept to keep weight down while keeping the assembly strong with some flex. As you can see in the pic they support the weight of the truck no prob. If you look closely you can see the outer edge cut outs on the lower skid. I did those for draining and also highlift jack placement ( cut outs can be bigger). My designs are different from the classic round tube concepts.

These look like a very well engineered part, far better than weld on designs. I may try my hand at fabricating my own and these are a good inspiration. If not these are top on my list to buy.
