I have a retail Order for a '23 and my name on a '23 stock order at a different dealership. After alot of research, I just wasn't comfortable relying on my '23 ever being built. The salesman with the retail order never could give me a straight answer about his allocations, and the stock order also seemed unlikely. This, coupled with the heated steering wheel and security system deletes, made me double down on my '22 search. I had found multiple '22s over the months with the specs I wanted, but they always wanted a crazy ADM. I had given up. A new search result popped up last week so I gave it a shot and made the call. Fortunately, the dealership negotiated the ADM down to something I could stomach since they were giving me a GREAT trade-in offer. I had to have the truck flatbedded to me because the dealership was 1000 miles away. I just took delivery on Tuesday! I looove the truck.
Here is the "BUT". The power tailgate goes down just fine. However, when going up, it makes a loud POP and automatically lowers back down. It can be manually closed, but not automatically. It is currently in the shop getting a warranty repair. I've read it could be the torsion bar, but the mechanic has ruled that out. It just seems to be poorly aligned. What a kick in the ********. I only got to drive it twice before taking it to the shop. I'm hoping to get it back this afternoon. Will post pics if/when I get it back.
