LoL at someone on a Gen 2 Raptor forum being concerned about 'reliability and build quality'. Good one...

... Am I missing something? I never had as much as a hiccup on my '18 nearing 50k miles, a good portion of them hard off-road, and my '20 is better still. Every manufacturer is going to have its issues, sure, but the prognostication of build quality for any car seems a prudent conversation, regardless.

I dig it, esthetically at least. I've heard plenty of stories of their egregious reliability and build quality; can anyone speak to that personally? The last Jeep I owned was damn near 20 years ago in high school.

only person I know who actually wheels her Jeep in the mountains is my sister, her JK has been near trouble free for 70k miles. I've read stories about people who have had terrible luck with their TJs and JKs.. yet I had 2 TJ Rubicons that gave me zero trouble.

I don't know anyone who owns a new JL.

I love Jeeps and have had several from 97-17. Loved them all and never had any issues with TJ’s or JK’s. Never owned a JL but my brother has one and hadn’t any issues either. I’ve put thousands of miles both on and off road with mine. Only things I did not like were the interiors (just not refined and plush enough, but I guess it’s gotta be able to withstand top off and doors off full sun and rain). Biggest issue is a power plant. Once you lift it and throw heavy tires on it’s a dog even with regearing. Interested to see how the diesel performs though. Ima Jeep fan boy but I still wouldn’t trade my truck for one.

same here...35k very HARD miles on my ‘17 AG including tons of desert miles and not a SINGLE issue. I came into this truck with little expectations for use as a daily driver/dirt bike hauler to complement my Porsche/GT-R fun cars and I was shocked how much this truck has to offer and the build is easily up there to my Turbo..easy

Same same... loaded 17’ AG 30,000 miles, half or so in the dirt, no an issue at all. Best truck ever!

2011 JKUR - lost transmission, 1 head gasket, transfer case and numerous recalls.
You need to know your dealership well if you own a Jeep.
