That's insane and a ridiculous waste of money. Just buy four 12ton jackstands from Harbor Freight for $80.

didn't see that price

my question is what HEIGHT is needed to use jack stands on the front and rear? never busted out my tape measure

I recall checking the front at a point when I had the truck up on the stands. It was sitting at 19" with the tires clear of the driveway. That was measured to the bottom of the frame where I had the stands positioned.

I didn't measure the rear, but it's pretty straightforward since you are lifting at the axle and don't have to worry about spring travel. You could probably just measure the clearance to the axle and add about 3 inches for the tire deformation under weight of the truck. It's not particularly high a small stand will suffice in the rear.

So on the topic of jack stands I find that when jacking up on the frame, the pad on the top of the jacks are never wide enough to let the frame sit flat on the pad. The pads are always too narrow. Anyone ever find a jack stand that has a wider pad for the frame to sit flat on ?
