The OP must be just standing back and shaking his head. I believe he had HIDs. Is there really no way to upgrade. Better bulbs, ballast?

I asked this question a while back and came to the conclusion that it would cost much more than I was willing to spend to get more light output. You will need new housings which will run you upwards of $1200. You can probably sell your existing housings/lamps to offset part of that cost, but not sure how much you'll get.

Not true at all. I started with stock FX4 HID housings and had Dawson @Raptor Retrofit install new Evo-X 50 watt bulbs/ballast. This would have been relatively inexpensive if that was the only thing I had him do. Lol

Most of the replies in that thread, much like this thread, were sarcastic. EFD_5924, is the same guy who started this whole LED shit show and he has since been banned. I can tell you that my stock HID housing with Dawson magic, have been outstanding. They are brighter than my 30" radius LED bar I have behind the grill, and they have dramatic cut off. I would highly recommend you talk to Dawson.

I know the LED talk was sarcastic, but how about the HID discussion. You're saying the stock HID housings that were designed for 35W ballasts and bulbs will work with 50W ballasts and bulbs, despite the increased operating temperatures?

That interests me. Especially if the cost is reasonable and the install is easy.

I'll contact Dawson. Thanks.
