Is a Resonator delete pipe any different that a straight pipe?

I have MBRP Res delete and it's just a 3.5" pipe with the ball connection to bolt right in to the factory y pipe. Now I'm tryin gto figure out how to fit my 3.5 muffler turndown to the 3" pipe coming out of the SW ypipe.

I had bought the Ford delete pipe, but i didn't realize at that time the difference in the pipe diameter. I have a Ford delete pipe for a non-raptor if anyone wants it!

What size is it?

I'm expecting a total blasting here - but what is the resonator even for?

The resonator smooths out the exhaust pulses received by the muffler by allowing the pulses from the manifolds to mix a bit. It doesn't seem like it's an important thing, but it can make a whale of a difference. When I put a header on my old Nissan 4x4 4-banger and had a Flowmaster welded up, I was *********. Starting that truck sounded like a Space Shuttle launch, and any real application of throttle made the whole exhaust system ring like a gong. Installing a resonator between the header and the muffler made all the difference, and I ran it that way for well over a decade until I sold it.

2010 models were 5.7L Triton engines, weren't they? The 6.2L has a different firing order, and that may necessitate a resonator to pass EPA sound regulations.
