I apologize if this has already been covered, but after 2 weeks of research I can’t seem to find anything similar. I’m experiencing an intermittent vibration/humming sensation when I come to a rolling stop or apply little pressure to the brakes. The best way I can describe it is as the sound when you drive over rumble strips/ sleeper lines(although not nearly as loud). It only happens at very low speeds right before coming to a stop. After already having issues with the IWE check valve, I can say this sound is completely different. I also feel a slight vibration in the wheel and brake pedal when this happens. The truck has 58k miles with stock tires. The tires probably have 20k miles on them. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I had the wheels rotated last week. My IPhone didn’t pick up the noise very well, but if you listen to the video through a quality speaker you should hear it.

it is the tires. put a straight edge on the outer tread blocks near the top. these tires tread blocks wear crazy where the alternate on the shoulder. creates a low rumble as very low speeds.

as the truck speeds up, the tires "balloon" slightly and that goes away.

I’m having the same issue. Wondering if anyone has resolved this. I just rotated my tires and installed new brakes thinking it might be that, but it’s still doing it. Not as bad, but is still happening. And does it less when everything is up to temp.

I'm also having this problem. Low rumble (like worn asphalt) that is intermittent and goes away after things warm up. Doesn't usually start until I hit the brakes lightly going down the hill from my house.

Any updates @Lee1993 ?

Strange that this is popping up. I've been experiencing this exact sound the last few days. The humming/vibration seems to align with each rotation of the driveshaft and is only noticable at <5mph, right as I'm coming to a stop.

It started shortly after I pulled the driveshaft to lube the slip yoke so it might be related. Haven't had time to dig into it yet.

81k miles on my Gen 1 with pretty fresh K02's.

Ok. So let’s do an experiment. I have read the threads that say it’s the 4wd IWE check valve, and I have listened to the videos of that online and my truck is definitely not making the same sound. So I tried the “put it in 4 auto” anyways to see if it goes away. And that seems to have solved the problem, so I say try the 4 auto test and see if the noise goes away. If it does I am going to draw the conclusion that it’s the iWE check valve or some sort of vacuum leak in the 4wd system. So try and report back.
