Interesting bed issue

I am new to the forums but I wanted to post an interesting issue I have with my new 2020 Raptor. Specifically, one of the bed bolts was not attached/threaded to anything. It was being held in place by being stuck to the bed liner and as soon as I loaded something into the bed it "popped" out. At first I thought it was loose, but then I looked and there are no threads or attachment points.

I dropped the truck off at the dealer and they are looking into it but it was interesting to hear both the service advisor and the tech say "we have never seen that before, the car is probably going to be here for a few days."

It seems the bed may have to come out, which is a bummer on a brand new truck, but not sure how else this can be resolved. Anyone every seen anything like this / have any ideas an easy way to resolve without removing the bed?

IIRC spay in bed liners are done by the dealership. Also they are supposed to replace the bolts as they are made to be single use. So it looks like who ever did the bed liner didn't put the bed back together correctly.

Exactly what @lateralis stated. Whoever did the bedliner failed to bolt it back in. That's ridiculous.

you can get the ‘factory spray in bed liner’, which I believe Ford sends out to some place close to the assembly line and the dreaded “ramp 59”. ( remember ramp 59, 2017 owners? ). That’s an unusual oversight for sure.

I’m betting there’s a simple fix.

The u-nut was probably missing from the factory. All of the the factory spray ins I've seen they spay over the bolts so they'd have no reason to remove the bolts. Most Line-X dealers remove the bolts then spray and reinstall the bolts.

@Matt D could you take a picture that is zoomed out so I can see where in the bed the bolt came from? It's hard for me to tell.

No. They are done near the factory and the bolts are not single use.
