Installed Gen 2 Fox Race Series Coilovers……FINALLY!

Does anyone know if the Gen 2 Fox Factory rear shocks work on the Gen 3 also? And I guess the other question would be if the stock Gen 3 rear shocks will fit on a 2019 LV truck?

The Factory Race LV shocks will physically fit on the rear of the Gen 3, however, you lose 1" of travel and your new expensive shocks effectively become your limit straps and you can damage the shafts. We've seen it happen.

We've put plenty of shocks on the Gen 3s though on the front axle and have kits in stock with very competitive pricing and free shipping. Feel free to send me a message if you're interested.

I’ve already ordered the fronts and rears from NeoGarage. I’d already decided to put the fronts on our gen 3 and then see if I need a spring spacer for the rear.
I’m putting the rears on my Gen 2 but already know I’ll eventually want the fronts on my Gen 2, I’ll keep you in mind when I’m ready to get the fronts.
I’ve been waiting on a recovery/ tire/ chase rack for my Gen 2 but it’s been on back order. If it doesn’t come soon I’ll likely cancel my order and go a different route. I’m wanting to get my bed set up to my liking and then see what lift Deavers I need. I currently have Eibachs on the front of my Gen 2 and it’s slightly nose high, I’m sure the bed set up is going to make that more pronounced. Do you deal with Deaver? I had them on two Ram/ Cummins/ Carli trucks previously and was happy with them.I’ll check out your site.

On the Gen 3, you can definitely go with a spacer or springs. It will depend on the load you intend to carry in the rear as the OEM springs are soft. On our Gen 3, we did Geiser rears to support the chase rack in the bed.

Regarding the chase rack, our go-to brand is RPG as they seem to be the best bang for the buck and have the functionality that most folks are after (two tires, jack, storage box or fuel jugs) and they're a solid price point...minus the fact that they have to freight ship from CA to WV. For the vast majority of folks going with chase racks on a Gen 2 when you have leveled suspension up front, you'll want to go with the Deaver +4HD. This gives you a 2" lift over stock plus the additional 450lb load capacity. On average, a chase rack setup with the rack itself, two tires, and some gear is going to be around the 400-500lb mark making the added carrying capacity of the Deavers perfect. I also like to go with the +4HD because if you intend to use the truck off-road with the weight in the back, overtime you will flatten out the springs as leaf springs are a wear item, so the +4 will give you more life. And if you do find the +4 to be too tall, we can also perfectly dial in the height with drop shackles to bering the rear down either 0.5" or one inch, depending on your needs.

Most informative, thanks. I was torn between the SD and HD, that helps me a lot. RPG was going to be my next go to for a tire rack. If I did the RPG rack, I’d get their bed supports too.

We just put these shocks on our 2023 Raptor R project truck and I've been very happy with the results!

Good to hear, I would do it on my new 37pp, but I am waiting for the Icons or new Foxs to be released with the revised valving and M10 Bolts. The new Gen 3 has larger holes in the strut tower as compared to the Gen 2, so the hardware is larger for the revised versions.

How did the Gen 2 FRS upgrade compare to just the stock ride of the Gen 3? I have a Gen 3 w/37pp but am looking to add 1-1.5" but want to keep stock performance (or smoother would be a win) out of the shocks.

I run the race series shocks on mine and its 100% a night and day ride over the OEM gen 3 shocks. You can add anywhere from 0-2” with them and the ride is quite a bit softer than the OEM shocks but you also get extra adjustability to change them a bit to your taste. You as well retain all live valve connections.
