Installed a Black Widow Muffler

Minimal. With a turndown style exit, I don't think it's possible to eliminate drone all together but the sound that is there at freeway speeds is pretty tame.

One day when were both free I'll have to come by so that we can compare the differnce in the 2 size muffers

As far as drone, there's a section on their site that says a turn down is not suggested cause that's the only place where they have had drone with their mufflers

Yeah, let's for sure meet up so you can hear the 14. I think you might be chopping yours off that same day!

As far as the sound goes, it's throaty and mean when you get on the gas. Even got the nod of approval from Nicole on the way to dinner last night with a "this how the truck should sound" comment. Now if I can only get her to ride in a linked truck through Barstow main... Lol

Does installing it the way you did cause us any grief when we have to get smog checked here in CA?

Not sure but I can't see why it would.

Good to see another raptor using a black widow muffler. I installed one in place of the stock muffler about 3 months ago and have nothing but good to say about it. Nice deep tone and no drone on my setup. I'm thinking about dumping it before the axle after seeing yours.

Picked up a Black Widow muffler over the weekend from fellow FRF member, @A.I.I.Raciing. Had it installed today and chopped off the resonator and dumped the exit with a turndown before the rear axle. Sounds really good with a solid deep tone. Ran a magnapack on my last raptor and I'd say the black widow sounds better. Now the truck doesn't sound like a Prius anymore!


I was curious to see if this is louder or quieter then the magnapack or about the same but just sounds better? I really liked the sound of the magnapack turndown but never heard of the black widow.

The best sound comparison I can make between the two would be that the black widow is a deeper tone compared to the magnapack.

Edit... After driving the truck just now, it's safe to say the black widow is louder than the magnapack.

Thanks Charlie, Think I'm gonna have to pick another 20 of these as I've only got 2 left. Guess people really are tired of the same tired sounds cause I've gotten rid 18 in the last month and it was all by word of mouth!
