Is it strange if I need to re-oil the filter on my AFE Momentum GT intake every 2k miles?

It’s not my first rodeo with an oiled filter. When I oil it I do so after properly cleaning and I try to make it look like it did out the box. I have made sure its properly oiled by letting it sit over night looking for too little oil or having the excess drip out (only done that once years ago).

It goes from blue to grey to quickly in my mind. I may be wrong… Any advice is appreciated.

I'd take the filter off and take a look down the tube. I'd be interested to know how much oil is now coating it. You gotta worry too because too much oil, you have your IAT sensor that is getting coated.

Another reason I'll always stick to dry filters. Replacement costs be damned.

Not the best insight, sorry, but I think you're gonna have some cleaning ahead of you.
