Jaclyn- Today I had my dealer install the Vehicle Security System (DL3Z-19A361-A) and the Remote Access (DL3Z-19A390-B) and everything is working correctly (lock, unlock, start, stop) but I am only getting security alerts on my phone for the full shock/impact and perimeter alarm, not for the non-threatening impacts of the "two-step perimeter alarm". I thought I read in a post on this or another forum that I would get security alerts for the first part of the two-step alarm, like when the horn just chirps once in response to a minor impact, but this is not happening. When I give it a light smack, the horn chirps once as a warning but no alert on my phone. I would like to get alerts for these door-ding type impacts so I can chase down the perp. This was the first VSS/RMU install the dealer did so they were kinda lost, I actually had to walk them through the install which took 4 hours when it should have been 1 hour. Thanks!

Also, I have not been able to figure out the Interior Theft Sensor. Where is the infrared sensor located and what does it take to get it to set off the alarm. I tried arming the system with the window open and then leaning it to grab something and nothing. I also tried arming it while hiding in the back seat and then jumping out and yelling "BOO" but this also did not set off the alarm.

Hey, TheWolf -

My department does not support the Remote Access Application, but I can point you in the right direction.

For all the details call: 800.367.3539 (FORDKEY) or visit: www.fordremoteaccess.com

Hi Jaclyn,

I have a samsung galaxy note 3. When connecting to MFT with bluetooth, and having BT audio selected as the source, my phone automatically launches Pandora most of the time and starts playing audio, instead of picking up where i left off (default music player app on phone). This happens even if Pandora is not even active or running on the phone. MFT will actually launch the app. So, to stop this, I switched to USB source and am using a USB drive to play music. But now when I start the truck, even on USB source, after my phone connects to MFT through bluetooth, it launches pandora and starts playing through my phones speakers. Lol. I cant get it to stop launching pandora.

Thanks.

With every iOS upgrade I have to delete my phone from MFT, delete sync from BT on phone, re-pair phone and MFT, turn off truck and open door, and finally start truck to get text messages to work. This happens even with minor iOS updates (eg 7.0.1 -> 7.0.2). Annoying. And this is just to receive messages since MFT doesn't support sending with iOS... gotta use Siri to send.

I try to avoid any of the Microsoft Stync features. I just tell Siri what I want to do (Play Spotify/Pandora or specific song/artist/playlist on my iphone, send text, email, etc, and I have Siri read my messages, text, etc.

No, the problems wouldn't go away. I'm a software developer. ALL software has bugs. I just wanted to point this one out to the Ford rep.

And I've had android devices. They aren't any better or worse than Apple. At the end of the day they are all pretty damn slick.
