So I've had my raptor for 4 months now,and I'm starting to hate it. Love driving it,love the roominess of it,but starting to hate the nit picky stuff going wrong with it. I'll get into it,but here is info. 2011 screw fully loaded only has 72k on it. Always dealer maintenance every 3500 miles. I'm second owner. Some may be wondering what to hate but here is a short list of things wrong or needing fixed.

-Rear defrost not working. Press button,no worky.
-Key fob only wants to work part of the time. Forget about getting the automatic start to work.
- replaced tube adapter below the oil filter. Nice 400 repair.
- sunroof is jacked up. Has mind of its own. Sometimes it will close, other times it slides back and forth a couple times before it finally closes. Just press button once and it goes nuts.
- driver side heated seat stopped working
- had to replace 2 ac vents.
- my Bluetooth with sync only works every now and then. Even after I delete and re-connect my phone.

These are just the ones that bother me. There are other things, but not any that brother me like these items do. Sad thing is I drive the truck, but I baby it. Now I know a raptor is meant to drive hard, but all these items and not one time have I driven it hard or off road. Makes me hate it and quite disappointed in all the nit picky issues with the truck so far in my 4 months of ownership. Figured it would hold up better than it has. That's end of my rant. Please share if you have any issues like this just with light driving. Thanks all for letting me vent.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I had a 2008 chevy that was a nightmare from day 1 (Bought new). Was probably at dealer 40 times for warranty repairs in first 3 years. (Would have been eligible for lemon law if I would have known you had to file within the first year.) When I finally gave up on it I traded for first Raptor. Didn't look over truck enough before leaving lot, and it had paint defects. Paint shop couldn't match paint so I traded for White Raptor I have now. I must be one of a lucky few because I haven't had any issues with it, and now at 38k.

As mentioned, it is a machine, and therefore can break.

If the problems bug you that much, trade it. But live with the consequences.
Otherwise I would take Crystal up on offer to get fixed at dealer and enjoy it.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I have a '10, bought it with 44k on it, put about 2k on it up to now. Only issue was sway bar bushings were shot. So, so far so good, knock on wood. There is a huge risk paying $36k for a 5 yr old truck, but my love for the truck is worth every penny. Going into it i knew it needed tires and probably needs to have a shock rebuild soon, but there is no way i could have spent $50k+ on a new Raptor.

Buying used with 72k is an even bigger risk, so don't be surprised if you have some issue, it's far from new, you never know how it was treated 72k before you. There is always going to be a few bad apples, u can't expect every Raptor off the line will be without normal issues.

I had a Dodge Ram before i traded for the Raptor. At 35k i had to change out the whole steering rack, WTF?? Then 20k later my emergency brakes locked up on me, they had to drop the axel to fix it, WTF? I hardly ever drove the truck, 65k in 10 yrs.

I think all vehicles produced are hit and miss. We purchased a '87 mustang McLaren limited edition and that thing self destructed after 40k miles. Small stuff everywhere nickeled and dimed that car into a full time position on the junk side of our garage. '05 f250 diesel turned into a streaming **** after 100k miles. '02 f250 gasser is running strong at 250k miles but has allot of electrical issues... '12 f150 Eco boost is running strong with no issues what so ever at 110k miles and the raptor is a '12 with all the bells and whistles with 35k miles and nothing but smiles. I knock on wood every chance I get, but these things are just hit n miss.

I put 50k miles on a '10 and & have put 65k on a 12' & didn't experience any of the issues the op is having. The 10' was only in the shop for regular maintence every 5k miles.
The 12' had several issues: the rear sliding window stop operating, the rear drivers side door latch wouldn't open, an electrical short made the truck undrivable & lastly the fuel pump went out. but all was fixed under warranty.

Bought my 2010 used with 17K miles on it in 2011. I got one of the 5.4s. I have over 60K on it now. I don't really baby it when not going off road except to keep it looking nice. I've not had any real problems with the truck yet. Replaced the front brakes and rotors with upgraded parts. Added quite a few mods. I even still have the original tires but I'll be buying new tires soon.

I fully expect the truck to last over 300K, both because of the way it's built and because I've had other vehicles hold up really well with the correct maintenance. It is by far the best vehicle I've owned.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having. If it were me I'd probably just bite the bullet and have it fixed.
