Unless you're ready to spend ....

1.) $2000 - $2500 on new tires by the looks of it.
2.) Be prepared that its been in an accident... i can see the respray even in that low res picture.
3.) Spend $1500 rebuilding the shocks cause I bet thats never been done
4.) And lastly.... you're prepared for the fuel costs thats going to come with the truck....

Id keep the Toyota.

I'm never selling to tacoma
And pluss a Raptor is my dream truck
ok, well I suppose if you donate the Taco to charity, or push it off a cliff, that would do. But I think you’ll find the Raptor is a jealous woman who does not take kindly to certain stablemates. Sometimes even parking in close proximity to some peasant car - bmw, things like that will make your Raptor act up.

tthis place is way better the tacoma world 10 out of 10
I’m not surprised...

Save your money, and take the money that you would be spending on the Raptor and invest in your future.

You will have plenty of time in your life to own specialty vehicles, but never buy them on loans or get sucked into the rat race of keeping up with the Jones’s so to speak. Sure the Raptor is cool and would be cool to own at 18 but you know what is even cooler, to be 30 and have no debt, a career, maybe your own business, a investment account worth over 1mil, and a bank account with enough cash to buy 3 raptors without affecting your lifestyle.

Your time will come. Focus on investing in your future rather than possessions at your age and money will eventually follow and give you the freedom to buy whatever you want with cash.

Generally good advice. The flipside to that would be buy what you want and live for today, he could end up dying in a car wreck or get cancer next year. Saving money would have been pointless.

I wouldn’t recommend being totally reckless like financing 100% of a new Ferrari at age 18, but 24k on a truck likely won’t set him back too far in life.

There is definitely a balance in life someone should find, but to buy a vehicle with credit never makes any sense financially unless it’s bought and owned buy a business.

Plus the kid is 18 and most likely a decision like this off of impulse and cool factor will most certainly put him back financially just with the upkeep and fuel expense alone.

Not a smart purchase at 18 if you’re not in a financial position to buy it outright without having to use credit especially where rates are at.
