Well, I lived up to my screen name despite what TRR had planned for me!
I could write a four page essay on the entire event, but I won't. Thanks Trey, Texana Ranch and crew, Trey's family, his beautiful wife Laura (and her 3 girl crew), Icon, RPG, TMX, SDHQ, all the other vendors, Bird, camera crew, and all of the Raptor owners (and passengers) for making this the best event ever!!! My boys and I had such a great time. Everyone treated us like they'd known us for years.
Driving was only part of the fun. The camp was awesome - food, people, beverages, trucks, tailgating, camping, trucks, Raptor girls, beverages, parties, night rides, trucks, and more Raptor girls (owners, drivers, passengers, or gawkers). The exotic run, the various night runs, the Mr. Patron run, hanging at the shop, close encounters with the camel kind, Johnny Five and Scarlett, the radio chatter (Late Night Show, featuring Bird and Rasco), and my Denver friends that made the trip were all so helpful and fun to hang with.
Watching (and helping) Corey work on Madcow's truck was a highlight for me. Apparently I was acting star-struck and everyone was giving me shit including my kids. Corey took the time to answer all my questions, explain everything, give me tips, and let me interrupt his incredibly busy evening. I also got the pleasure of working with Rich on his truck. Do they come any nicer than an OK Cowboy?? The answer is no!
The whole RPG crew was amazing to hang with!! TMX took great care of me at the event, thanks Danny and crew! Icon was so helpful and their products rock! SDHQ came ready to rock with their store/trailer. Xtreme Outfitters still has drool all over their Jeep and Raptor, sorry!
I can't believe I was driving on the track with the likes of RPG, Outlaw, TMX, WSI, Icon, and others!!
Special thanks to my convoy and trailer mate, MyDinosaur and his girl Steph - putting up with my pit stops, breaking the bathroom door, and my kids' iPhone alarms!! You guys were awesome!
I miss the ranch already...
