I've been in a truck with them mounted like that, and they were loud.
Hopefully they have changed something in the design.

I have been wondering about the noise. Could it be the wind blowing across the mounts? The cutouts might cause the noise, like blowing across the top of a beer bottle. I could easily fab a metal piece to attach to the back of the mount to close off the cutouts.

Thoughts? Otherwise I blast the radio like usual.
