I don't like the look of the baja styles wielded bumpers that is provided by ADD and RPG. No offense guys as you make great products. It's mainly due to the fact that I'm in Oklahoma and I'm scared of what Bambi and her little friends would do to them if they decided to run out in front of me on the way to the farm.

I haven't been able to find a heavy duty bumper that doesn't look ridiculous on the truck until I came across a pic from SEMA '13 of a blue Raptor running Innovative Creations, INC. Magnum RT bumper that doesn't look terrible.

So, I was wondering if anyone on the forum is running it. I was curious on the weight, if any cutting had to be done, and if they would recommend it. This is the only info on the website about it:
• Made From Premium Heavy Duty D-36 Hot Rolled Carbon Steel
• Integrated Heavy-Duty 1" Tow Rings
• 2-Stage Black Powder Coat #20 Finish
• 3 Piece Bracket Assembly
• Accepts up to 12.5" Recovery Winch
• Made in the USA

I've attached some pics I pulled directly from their website for a preview.

Any help would be appreciated.

I like my rock slide engineering bumper, it's aluminum and I'm pretty sure it doesn't weigh any more than the stock bumper

Funny, I was looking at ICI's on the internet last night.
From what I've read, it is a 'bolt-on'
There are several versions; with winch or w/o and with the bar or without.
They also have two other styles with brush guards & with or without winch.
They are made from one piece and folded or rolled, so there are less welds.

Another company named - TrailReady is making a heavy duty aluminum bumper - soon to be released.

I Can't WAIT! ~ :Plugged:

Personally I think that thing is fugly. Everyone is entitled to their own style and opinion, but that thing looks like it belongs on a Dodge truck. :)

With that said, I'll provide some constructive criticism in addition to my opinion on it's looks.

It looks fairly strong, but "Made From Premium Heavy Duty D-36 Hot Rolled Carbon Steel" tells essentially nothing.
* I'm not sure what exactly makes steel "premium."
* I don't know of any measurable standard for "heavy duty."
* "D-36" is a grade of steel typically associated with naval and shipbuilding and this grade of steel is typically imported from Chinese steel foundries.
* "Carbon Steel" Hmmm... does any steel not contain carbon. LOL

Sorry to tear that statement apart, but that's just a lot of marketing BS to make it sound like they're really using some tough materials. In reality, the fact that they leave out the gauge or thickness of the steel scares me and makes me think that it's pretty weak and thin. I would contact the manufacturer and ask what the thickness of the steel is, exactly how it attaches to the vehicle frame, and how many frame attachments it uses.

In regard to your statement about what would happen to an RPG or ADD bumper in the event of hitting a deer, I can pretty much guarantee that both of those along with the rest of the major prerunner bumper builders (LGE/CTS, Saints Offroad, SDHQ, etc.) would all protect the truck much better than the stock bumper and I suspect that they would even significantly outperform the Magnum bumper that you shared. Most of the prerunner bumpers use 0.095" or 0.120" wall steel in 1.5" or 2.0" diameter. Also, these prerunner bumpers are built with approach angle in mind which would benefit you in the event you hit a deer because this "approach angle" will deflect the deer under your truck instead of it's body exploding all over the front of your truck causing blood and guts to fly all over and do severe damage to your front body panels. :) The tubular prerunner bumpers may look weak and minimalistic, but they are very strong!

I live in Michigan where accidents with deer are very common. I once hit a deer at freeway speed with a Ford Ranger that had a Dixon Brothers Racing front prerunner bumper installed. The deer was deflected under my truck and the only damage to my truck was to the Hella lights on the bumper.

This is the bumper I had:

The bumper was 100% bolt on. It used the OEM bumper attachment points and had some additional attachment points that were sandwiched between the OEM swaybar mounts and frame.

Hope this helps... good luck!

I think it looks better than the other plate bumpers I have seen for sure! It's not my taste but it wont be my money either haha.

BAJASVT- Very good points! It irks me when I read sentences obviously designed to characterize a product a certain way when 3/4 of the words in the sentence are filler.

I will also say that a deer would not be an issue for any prerunner-style bumper built by a quality fabrication shop.

Good luck in your bumper search

God, so bad. No offense, just my opinion. Btw, bambi doesn't stand a chance against my ADD Stealth.

> D-36 is a low carbon steel.
> Heavy Duty & Premium are subjective depending on application.
> It is a 'bolt-on' install.
> A little research indicates that it is 7 gauge or 3/16" . .
. . enough to smash 'bambi' .. unless 'bambi' takes a leap and crunches your windshield.
Some people just don't like ----> 'totally tubular' or the "under-bite look"
I like both designs

The "Magnum" across the front makes me laugh pretty hard. Bumper looks fine I guess, I'm sure there are those who don't like mine. Only thing is that the front skid won't last long at all. Looks almost to be lower than the stock skid. Pretty easy to bash in with minor offroading.
