You have no idea how heavy these coolers are until you get it. I think it is the biggest downside of these coolers. They are great but their weight almost makes it unusable

Agreed, but for what I'll really be using this for, it's going to go from the garage to the truck bed to the ground of the campsite where I'll be for a few days. Definitely not going to be lugging something like this to the pool. Hell, usually when I go to the beach, the cooler doesn't even leave the truck bed.

All coolers of this design are HEAVY. Its the nature of the beast, what makes them so great over cheap coolers requires the weight. Go lift up a pelican/storm case of comparable size and you will see that tough as nails enclosure is not light.

I just got a 45 Qt pelican storm and it is a BEAST (really heavy). I'm really glad I didn't go with the 65 for what I plan to use it for.

I did get the 65 and love it. Yes, it's heavy, but then it doesn't get moved around in use.

I also have the pelican 45 and it's pretty damn heavy empty. I usually put it in the bed of the truck empty and then I fill it with drinks and what not and then I add ice. It's just too heavy to lift into the bed when it's filled with drinks and ice.

Regardless, Pelican makes a great cooler and I use it all the time.
