Don't confuse dealer delays with production delays. Do you have a VIN? How long did it take to actually get that VIN?

Dealerships are on an order rotation. Last I knew (model year 2010) it was 6 weeks. So in other words, the dealer could take your money day 1 and not actually place the order with Ford for over a month.

And even then, the dealer doesn't have unlimited slots. Most get 2. So if you're order #3, you might not get submitted until the following cycle, and so on.

No dealer will yell you that of course. They'll take your order and keep you posted, of course. The only real way to know you're past the dealership crap is that VIN. If you don't have one, Ford doesn't know you exist.

I'm order #1 of 2 at my dealer, no money down, he is a personal friend and i have a copy of the order placed and Ford customer service / SVT program have both confirmed it was placed Sep 2nd, so there is no answer for the bs I'm dealing with.

thats not fully true. you can know your slot in the lineup by knowing what the dealer order number is, as well as what priority they gave you. Stutide and I were both Priority 10's, I was order W001 and he was order W002. We were both entered in the system August 26th, and just on the waiting list. Anytime we called SVT it just showed up as "order processing - 8/26" which shows it wasn't dealer games, it was in the system and waiting on Ford that entire time.

Ah. Huh. That's different than I heard and experienced directly, but when I ordered mine I never dealt with SVT. It was Ford who handled the whole process after the dealership submitted the order, not SVT. Sounds like things have changed.

Good luck guys. Seriously, its worth the wait.

Nothing changed. And you don't need to deal with SVT. They just have access to see what status your order is at, and it's a much friendlier and quicker route to get a status on your build rather than going through general Ford. Your dealer can get you the same exact info as well.

You can call Ford and deal with umpteen menus and people to get to the point where you can find out your order status
you can call your dealer and bug your salesman on your order status
You can call SVT and get your order status.

I alternate between SVT and my dealer (Randy) just so I'm not bugging one too frequently lol.

Well, again, you're describing a very different process than I went thru. I had an Ford customer service 800 number (I posted it here somewhere) and within one or two button presses I was talking to a live Ford rep who walked me thru the whole process. I talked to them almost daily toward the end, getting info as detailed as where the truck was on the assembly line, which quality control test it was undergoing, which train car my truck was on, and where that train currently was in the country, etc...

Not sure why our experiences are so far apart. But I went thru a broker to order and buy mine, so maybe that's part of it. Dunno.

Are you answering my post? If so, I have a priority 10, Ford acknowledges the order is intheir system and has been since Sep 2, they just haven't pulled it. So, to Ford: :flipthebird:

I called that number, worst service I ever got. She was rude, condesending and insulting. I almost pulled theorder after talking to her.

Wow! Things have definitely changed then. I talked to a different person it seems every time I called (maybe 40 times total?) and each time I was treated with respect by overly friendly folks.

I'm really surprised to hear they treated you so badly. Treatment like that would make me rethink my order too.

I don't see how that is any different of a process. You can go through ANY route and get the same information. You could call ford customer service 800 number like you said, OR you could call SVT, they will tell you the same information.

No my post was refering to the one above yours about how VIN#'s are assigned.

And I agree, I'd rather call the SVT rep than the regular Ford rep.
