I actually didn't think the shocks were so bad if you go with the exchange program, but all the headers and exhaust systems I've found so far get way out of hand.

You're right relative to the quality of the stock shock and its capabilities, refurb or takeoffs are not that bad. But when I was in the dealer last week for that recall and mount tires, I asked them how much to install shocks, just labor was $824. Guess I will be killing a Saturday afternoon in the driveway soon.

That seems pretty steep considering its not a bad job.

Swapping the springs around is probably the worst part, and even then, the local fix it shop only charges $30/$40 bucks for that around here.

Looks like I got lucky on the exhaust end of it though.
Based on the fact that the rest of the truck is completely stock, I figured the Roush chrome tips were there from the factory.
Turns out it is a Roush cat back single exhaust.

I replaced the Mag-Ride shocks in my ZL1 Camaro at 60k.
That was not cheap either.
But they were the best shocks for a road car EVER.
I guess the same, off-road equivalent here.

Thanks! I just wish I could get the UPS and FedEx drivers around here to share your sentiment!
But, I can see how 2 100+lb GSD's blasting out of the garage at full throttle to greet a guy might be a little intimidating if you're not a dog person.
