I am wanting to do a raptor run and want to have enough light for the night runs. I have HID's in the factory headlights and they are not nearly as good as my chevy's were.

How much light is enough? I'm thinking in lumens but maybe that is not the right way to think about it.

Obviously the more the better, but I do have a budget.

I do have an understanding of the beam pattern.

Hi Roostinyfz

Like Phyguy said ( thanks for the support) we offer a forum discount to Ford Raptor Forum members as well as have a blackfriday-cyber monday sale going on.
There is a quite a bit of Raptor guys loving our new OnX an its light output. The quality of light and build quality is awesome!

When looking at purchasing any LED lights don't just focus on lumen ratings. There are many other factors that go into the brightness of a light.
We do have some other threads on here with pictures and information about the other factors of a light. Id be glad to answer any questions you have
Thanks
Mike

I found this out the hard way this past weekend with the 44" OnX behind the grill. First, the grill cuts down the light emission of the OnX significantly, it also casts shadows. Now the bar still threw out a lot of light but not enough to make me comfortable to go way fast at night because, yeah, the bar down low like that doesn't illuminate the big dips and whoops, just makes shadows out of them. The OnX bar is a great piece of engineering, I'm just not sure that a behind the grill mount is the best place for it, aamof, I'm sure it isn't. I'm now thinking that an over the cab mount is the way to go for maximum use of a really nice light.

another important point to make is that lots of light up high is a must. for example a roof light mount or a chase rack. you can have a lot of light mounted on your bumper or hood but it's going to cast shadows and won't illuminate the big dips off in the distance as well....

here's some options from ADD but many of our vendors stock something similar

When it comes to lights, I have to agree that there is no such thing as too much! Here's a pic of iSurvive's Raptor. I've seen his truck at night and all I can say is wow!

Rick is right a stock bumper with one mounted in it is fine for a Raptor Run. However, like it has been said before you can never have too much light. I run a Rigid 40 on the bumper, four Rigid D2’0s behind the grill, two Vision X 4 inch HID on the hood and I can still out run my lights. But what I have found by having different sets of lights, that all run on different switches, is you can switch between them depending on the conditions. Because of dust and shadows you can sometimes have too much light. Because of dust I have dropped down to just the headlights (aftermarket HID’s) so I can see where I am going.

I ordered the 40 grill kit and am thinking about the fogs as well...torn between the M&R and the Rigid dullays or d2s...

i personally just dont really like the look of the rigid dually's in the bumper openeing. whenever i saw pics of them, i kept thinking id rather just have them open with no lights... the M&R's tho really tickled my fancy for some reason. after that next on my list is Raptor Retrofits, but i dont think i can get those till after i get xmas money. then ill probably get some hood mounts..... GAH!!!! its a damn sickness i tells ya!!!
