How long did it take after ordering to get any info on the build? I have my order number and dealer code which I gave to the Ford Performance chat today and he said all he can see is that my order is unscheduled. I just want to make sure the dealer is doing everything right...

My build date was 3.5 months after my order. I have carbon fiber and bead lock which I hear can delay things.

Also, does anyone know if the spray-in bed liner is slowing them down? I hadn’t heard, but had someone tell me that yesterday. If it is, I’ll remove it and have it line-x’d...

I made contact with my dealer on Oct 2. He did not have allocations at the time but put me on his list. Allocation came up on Oct 16th. I got the VIN# OCT26th. Truck was built 11-27. It was in IL on a train yesterday. Ford is saying its due at the dealer Dec10-14th. So should be right at two months from actual order going into Ford till when I actually get the truck.

My dealer sounded like they weren't sure if they had an allocation or not at the time of order, but I called Ford Performance today and gave them my order # and dealer code and he said he could see the order, but it has not been scheduled. I'm assuming since he could see the order, that means my dealer did in fact have an allocation? And now its just a waiting game to see when my build date gets scheduled, I will probably check in with Ford Performance like daily because I'm ridiculously anxious...

12/1. Doubt spray In liner would cause a delay

No. Any dealer can submit an order, whether or not the truck gets pulled for a build and assigned a vin depends on allocation. Theoretically the dealer can take a deposit and submit an order while hoping for an allocation to come in. Shady but it happens.

FWIW I’m in the same boat as you. I placed my order Saturday 12/02, dealer sent me the DORA yesterday 12/5 and I was able to call Ford Performance and verify the order then. I don’t think we can be sure of allocation until VIN is generated.
