I have car2u and a craftsman opener. I have followed the instructions in the manual (same as posted here) and the instructions on the opener and still having no luck. Any suggestions?

TT

If you followed my instructions, I would Google your opener and Car2U, I also think there is a homelink retro fit you can do (you need a new visor)

TTOKC: If you call Car2U, they will send you a new receiver. They must have a deal with Ford, because they were eager to help when I told them it was a 2012 150. If they have for some reason discontinued this deal, PM me and I will send you mine. (free) I had an older Craftsman that finally wore out, and I replaced it with a LiftMaster that won't work with either Homelink or Car2U, so I'm back to using the original remotes.

If your having issues. Check and put your garage door opener in learning mode some models have this feature. Then also check if yours uses a rolling code some of them do and can cause intermittent issues of it working sometimes and not. Experience this a lot with BMW customers at work.

I have a Chamberlain with rolling codes, the simple way to Program the opener is to follow the instructions to clear out the codes (it is something like holding outside buttons for 20 seconds).

Go to you opener and located the program button (if you have one, your life will be easy). Hit the program button, run back to your truck, press the button you want to program. If you opener is supported, the light will flash on the opener, acknowledging that it is linked. Let go when the light flashes on the opener and you are golden. Press the button again and your door should open/shut as expected.

The manuals instructions are a bit dicey to say the least.

Good luck.

SUCCESS!!!!

Thanks for your post! I was not looking forward to syncing it and came across you post as I couldn't figure the manual out at all.

This did the trick!

*edit
Also works on the HOMELINK in my maserati just pressing the sync button on garage opener then pressing and holding the desired button in the car for about 3 sec!!!!

Mine worked great, but one issue I have had in the past with these garage door openers in cars has to do with the opener and how many devices it can support at one time. Not sure if that is your issue, but sometimes you have to clear the garage door openers memory and start fresh with adding your remote devices (cars, and even the factory garage door opener). Not sure if that is causing your problem, but I thought I would mention it as I have had that issue before in the past.

Mine in my 12 sucks compared to my old Denali that had Homelink. I have to be in the driveway, pat my head and rub my belly for it to work. So annoying.
