For some reason Ford decided not to put a HomeLink or equivalent remote control device built into the Raptor this year. I've been told they have it in other trucks but not in the F150 SVT this year.

I understand you can pick up a HomeLink visor on Ebay pretty cheaply. Gut it for the HomeLink device, mount it, wire it up, program it and that's it. I understand it's a pretty easy mod to do and I plan on doing this myself. Meanwhile I'm using the sunglasses storage unit for my front gate and garage door remote.

Note: If you're going to do this you do need to be aware of whether or not your garage door opener uses rolling codes and if the one you are buying supports them.

Here are some simple instructions for this mod - click here

Ohh I like that. A quick ebay search confirms these can be had for low bucks ($10-20 is some cases). Looks like you can just buy the module in some cases as well (no visor).

Hmmm....

I haven't done it. Waiting for someone with more electrical know-how than me (everyone) to do it first and provide a tutorial :)

That's no excuse! My truck has never been in my garage but I need the opener to open it (and the front gate of our community). I still need to carry the dang opener and I'd rather have the Homelinkian thing installed. So hurry up and do the mod! :D

I do not even have a garage door opener... the previous owner was in Florida when i closed and they never sent it to me... I would have been mad but they left a few thousand dollars worth of stuff in the house... I figure they did not send me the garage door opener as required by law, so I was not going to give them there stuff back (which my realtor told me in TX is the law anyway... if it is on the property at time of closing it is part of the property...) The garage is single car so the only things I have kepty in there are the various bicycles and motorbikes... I guess it would be nice for them, but it has a keypad so it is not that big a deal...

I thought I had seen that somewhere... did not want to bring it up because I thought it was on the Z... I am fairly sure there is a full write up over there.

That's no excuse! Put a garage door opener on your garage - then you'll need the Homelink! :D :D :D
