Sounds like you should have kept the original engine. Unless it was more broke.

The original engine broke. Brand new crate engine from Ford. I pulled the old one and installed the new one. Only differences were cam timing sensor connectors and those got swapped

i believe it will need new programming. so this is the first time it has ever been started/ tried to start? the onboard computers were probably programmed to your old engine. since it is seeing different specs, it might be preventing starting.
