I’ll be the other side of the coin here. If you are going to buy a raptor go then buy a Raptor not a blue f150. The sema truck has a ton of extras and for 6k less I’m not sure what you couldn’t replace and still be better than the blue one.
I think the gears truck looks awesome. The blue truck is just a stock f150... you are getting an easy 10-20k in parts and labor with the gears truck...

I don’t know what’s going on with this forum the day the majority would vote towards the blue truck. I think I saw a Prius for sale too
There is a bit of a slant on this thread about resale value. Are you buying it to drive a Raptor or are you buying it as an investment?
Buying a car or truck and taking great care of it for the next owner sucks. I have done it too many times. Too old for that crap. Buy what you like and enjoy it.
todays old man advice...

He said that he only keeps a vehicle for 2-3 years, hence the resale slant. He also didn't say whether he plans to hoon it, but the implication of "only 801a" and "no sunroof" implies that it's a daily that won't see much off road. If that's the case, I'd say blue is a slam dunk. If I was buying for me, I'd take the other one. Sadly, this isn't about me. ;)

If the OP wasn't planning on keeping it for only 2 years, I think everybody would say go full tilt on the modded one, but this isn't the case here, I don't think. Aren't you driving a Tesla now?? LOL

I agree 100%. I love my Raptor (pretty much all Raptors) - but they aren’t great investments if it’s a DD. Although with recent prices, maybe I am flat wrong! I think I could sell mine today for a few thousand more than I paid in Jan 2020. But these are rare times. 2-3 years from now I certainly wouldn’t bank on grandpa Joe’s economy making my Raptor a good investment.

The blue one seems like a no brainer but it definitely doesn't have every option. Also, did someone paint the fender flares and front bumper, or were they available like that from the factory some how?

Vehicles aren't investments but there's no reason you can't enjoy driving a Raptor without unnecessarily lowering the resale value.

I don't take care of my Raptor for the next owner, I take care of it because I enjoy having a nice truck and I know that some day I will trade it for something else and I like to maximize the use of my money. Enjoying your vehicle and taking care of it are not mutually exclusive ideas.

My vote goes with the Rockstar. 2-3 years is all your going to keep it, best fun is the modified truck. You know it was refitted for the play. But I’m partial since mine is from a race team.

Okay, the first truck I am looking at is a 2019 Velocity with 9k miles on it. Has every option 802a, carbon fiber, Recaro, etc. Also has marimoto headlights and painted fenders/bumpers. I can buy it for 61k. The second truck is a former Xbox Sema truck and was built by ADD, then it was changed and rewrapped as a Rockstar/Gears of War truck, which I'm a little worried that the 12k miles it has have been hard miles. None the less I can buy that for 6k less than the 19 and has a number of aftermarket lights, bumpers, chase rack, boat tec fenders, wheels and tires, intercooler, etc. The downside is that the truck was an early release and is pretty bare bones, 801a, no sunroof or extras other than 360 camera. I usually only keep my vehicles 2-3 years and trying to decide which is the better route to go. Any help is appreciated!

I would go with the Blue Raptor. Love the painted fender flares!

Sorry man, didn't mean to hit a nerve. I take great care of my truck, but it's to keep maintenance cost down, not to try to give it a higher resale value. Traded in some pristine vehicles before, and guess what they gave me... trade-in value.
