Sounds like you are losing vacuum to the front integrated wheel ends, causing them to partially engage on hard acceleration.

Put it in 4x4 Auto and re-evaluate. If the noise is no longer present, you’ve narrowed it down to the IWEs. What year is the truck?

thanks for info yes that was my first thought; cause its not engine! I rev hard in neutral and no sound; under hard excel its comes in the beginning and then goes away at high speed. its seems to be getting worse so taking to dealership; they are backed up due to COVID and low service guys. Not sure if its worse cause of heat (97 here today) or just vacuum getting worse. I have a 2017 Raptor aprox 40K miles

The TSB book times range from 1 hour to 2.8 hours depending on the nature of the issue. So just multiply that by your dealerships hourly rate to get a labor estimate. Parts (list price) are $9.90 for the check valve assembly (which will need to be replaced with the updated part #), $56.83 for per IWE (if either is damaged), $43.02 for the vacuum harness (if leaking/damaged), and $224 per wheel bearing (if damaged).

If it’s outta warranty I’d shop for parts, that’s a RIDICULOUS price for a wheel bearing

Does it only make the sound once the engine is warmed up? The dealer messed up my heat shield replacing a Cat. I took it back in because it started making that sound after they did the work. They forgot to tighten and properly install the heat shield and it warped causing it to grind on something and rattle. Sounded the same. But again, only when the engine was hot and on acceleration. Just a thought. Good luck.

It’s actually not bad for dealer list price; the aftermarket ones aren’t much cheaper. On Rock Auto, the Moog hub is $200.

Motorcraft is only $128 on Rock Auto, that’s a steal for an OE grade part.

damn must be raptor/ford thing? Or maybe just b/c fairly new only limited aftermarket options. I had been compiling bunch of parts to do a full rebuild on my Z06 suspension & I got timken bearings for like $110 a piece, they were Listed higher like $135-$140 maybe tops for the front & I know I saw ****** options as cheap as $36

More of a truck thing. Heavier duty/physically larger hubs tend to cost more.
