Help...can't decide on a gray

This truck looks great in all colors. I'm torn between leadfoot and magnetic. Not sure I like the leadfoot in direct sunlight...and I'm moving to Central Texas. Wife hates leadfoot (but this is my truck and she said do what I want). I'm thinking either Xpel Stealth or Xpel Ultimate....the magnetic looks good in either and the leadfoot looks great in Stealth.

Price is identical. I'm going bananas.

If you're torn and your wife likes one a lot more than the other, I'd say it's a slam dunk. Sounds to me like you really want Leadfoot ...

I just traded in a 2017 Explorer Sport in Magnetic for a 2020 Raptor in Leadfoot. Both colors are stunning. Magnetic has more of a flake/shimmer in good sunlight, Leadfoot is more of a solid gloss gray (no metallic flake.) Magnetic is just a shade darker espcially on an overcast day.

IMO you cannot go wrong with either so go with your gut.

I haven't noticed that one keeps dirt hidden better then the other (they both seem to hide dirt pretty well).

You’ve been on this site longer than me (though I’ve been lurking with no account for some time) but our paths on here have been roughly the same - a long, LONG, time waiting and planning and preparing so when it’s time, everything is done. I’ve been following you along the whole way and am glad I’m not the only one. I was going to order like you did but with the move coming up in a week or two and my new bride and I consolidating and moving stuff back and forth so the moving truck comes to one location...a truck in the next week is the better option for me.

That said, my wife keeps dropping hints on magnetic being superior. And since I’m torn, I think I’ll give her the win. Then when she decides she wants to get the truck, I’ll go get a new one!

I’ve been looking for 2 years...I would’ve bought Performance Blue at first but then decided leadfoot was the way. However, I’ve always loved magnetic. And, if I can give the wife “a win,” and I get my dream truck? Can’t beat that.

So I went through the same thing you did. Although she hated Leadfoot, she wanted Velocity Blue. So I went to my local dealer and the two colors just happened to be right next to each other. It was no contest as the Leadfoot just sang to me. So I told my wife and she was not happy. "You know, you're not going to be the only one who drives that truck!". So I decided I'd try some reverse psychology. Woke up and said, "Honey, I couldn't sleep last night because of our differences in color choice so since I also like the blue, that's what we're going with". Oh my, she totally backtracked. Said she was heavy handed and I should get the color I want. I pushed so hard for the blue she said, "If you don't get Leadfoot I'm going to be pissed!". And so it was.

I thought about doing something similar but I do love both. I’m just happy she’s into the truck, that was something in the beginning. Especially since we live in LA currently and there are no trucks here at all. But Texas, on the other hand...
