Hello everyone,
Just picked up a 19 Raptor after trading in my 17 Corvette Grand Sport. Very happy so far with the trade. Already ordered the Baja Designs fog Light kit and looking for what to do to it next. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

F--- that. We’re going to come in here and passive aggressively insinuate they really bought a prius because this opening post is seriously lacking in photo content!

In fact, I’ll bet ol’ Greg picked up the Emo’ red prius

As others have said look around and develop a sense of what you like and what you're going for...lots of cool options.

I have a few dont do's:

1). Don't try to improve the sound. The TTV6 kicks the crap out of EVERY SINGLE gas V8 offered in ANY truck. HP, Torque, MPG, weight all add up to the Gen2 Raptor being the best factory off road racer ever produced. The trade off is sound and no matter what you do you can't make it sound good. You can make it louder, you can change the sound but after thousands of dollars you will still have a truck that outperforms every other but won't have the sound to underscore it.

2). Whatever you do to your suspension don't ignore what Ford has engineered. Big lifts, big wheels and other stuff can take a toll. I'm not saying don't do suspension mods I'm saying be careful about what you do. For example if you level it and get that skateboard look then you might ride nose high towing a trailer. If you put big wheels on then you'll have to lower the tire profile(Not good for off roading) or lift it unless you don't mind rubbing or knocking off your fenders. Some suspension mods are a quick win such as the KHC Torque arm and others require some forethought and planning based on the desired result and the potential trad eoff.

3). Don't ignore your owners manual. So many questions are answered in there and so much mis information can be avoided by reading the manual. I use mine off the Ford website so I can search it and scan it easily.

4). Don't listen to the naysayers and do install a catch can. They work, you will get measurable oil/gunk but you won't be able to scientifically justify it. All you'll be able to do is visibly see and dispose of oil that would have been sucked into the intake diluting octane amongst other things. THere are several good ones but make sure it's a dual valve.

5). Don't listen to me or anyone else on this forum for anything other than a subjective opinion.... You don't know us. Make contacts with professionals you trust and make sure to get their opinion on anything mechanical(Some dealerships have great techs) and remember that only you and your significant other's opinion matter when it comes to how something looks.

Welcome to the forum Greg, you’ll love the raptor. I traded out of my 16 2LT in anticipation of the pending mid engine deliveries driving down C7 values, and the raptor has been a great trade off. That said, I can’t wait to pick up a C8 come the 21-22 model years. You planning to do something similar?
