this happened within the last two days since I washed my truck (in my garage if it matters). Both headlight assemblies have developed numerous cracks. anybody else have the same issue?

with only 4,500 miles on my truck (since late Jan), plan to take it in for first maint service, recalls, etc in Oct.

What did you use to clean it with? I am assuming the headlights are polycarbonate (PC). PC is strong and actually used for bulletproof glass, however, there are some chemicals that can crack it and make if very brittle. Even Windex can be bad for PC.

Ok, but not all lenses use exactly the same plastic composition. What products do you use? First I’ve seen this concern.

Seems like a defect, even if your cleaning solution was a contributor.

Don't tell your dealer that it happened right after washing though. They may leverage that to say it was customer induced.

If you can’t feel the cracks on the outside, it may be a condition known as “micro-cracking”, which is considered a defect.
