help keeps heat in the header and less radiant heat in the engine bay to damage electrical components.

I was told that the stainless headers will lower the temps by themselves and it isn't worth coating them. I don't know if I believe that or not. I would expect coating them would lower the temps even lower.

ever touched a stainless steel header on a running engine? they get really hot. if stainless steel lowered temps then it probably wouldn’t be used for cooking pans. stainless steel does have a lower heat transfer coefficient than some carbon steels but headers are usually thin walled and don’t hold heat in very well. factory manifolds can hold heat in better because of their increased wall thickness.

Thats correct, I was told that the stock manifolds hold heat in the engine compartment and stainless doesn't as much.
