Quick question, I have an ipad2 with external GPS. Using MotionX-HD, I have the Tracks already. Do I need to download the maps, because I will not have a data connection?

That was the recommendation, this way if you have no internet service you are still good to go. Verizon and ATT did seem to have good signals while I was there however.
