I have a '17 SCREW and I am having trouble with the twin panel moon roof. In normal operation, when the moon roof is opened, the first thing it does is drop the back part down and so it can slide to the rear. Mine appears to be having trouble dropping down. It seems like it is getting bound up on the passenger side where the movable glass meets the stationary glass. I can reach up on the passenger side and "help" pull it down and then it functions normally.

I dropped it off at the dealership yesterday and I'm waiting to hear back. They didn't get to look at it yesterday (the "sunroof guy" was backed up on some other jobs). Don't get me started on that load of bull.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? If so, what was the solution?

I’ve not had this happen in the Rap.... <knock on wood>

A previous car I had the sun roof - well - go off the rails, quite literally and wouldn’t close. I had to assist it closed from outside while someone hit the switch for me. That ended up being a new sunroof assembly to fix it. Worked trouble free for years after that.

Ford will replace the whole assembly. That's all they ever do.

At every service, whether done by a stealership or private shop, or you, lube the moonroof assembly and glass/gasket contact points. We should probably all be doing this every couple months

I leave mine closed. I know that the second that I open it, it'll break, or malfunction and I'll end up paying to have the roof skin replaced with a non-sunroof skin.
