have you stripped your lower skid plate bolts?

Got around to taking care of my broken skid plate nuts. I found that hammering on an open end 9/16" wrench through the side opening will hold the broken nut so the bolt can be removed.
Everyone calls it stripped bolts but its actually a broken nut retainer. I went to NAPA and bought some one piece nut clips (M10x1.5) to replace the OEM style. Also, the torque is listed as 35 ft lbs. I seems that they just run the bolts on at the factory with no regards for the spec's.
Anyway, that problem is solved.

Did my first oil change and yep same broken nuts. So going to advanceauto tomorrow to get the same style replacements. I did do all royal purple oil and filter really happy so far.

Went to take mine off… same problem. Tried with a pry bar bar, no bueno. Need to drop the metal bumper and swap it for the annual test anyway… will try and get at the clip from the front once the bumper is off. Should at least be able to spin it round.

Anyone tried just using autozone m10 bolts instead of factory. I can't find any flanges style thinking of using hex bolts with two washers and some nutclips from anywhere. I'm guessing as long as they are rust proof. Dealer does not have wm in stock and don't know when they will get them. I need all ten. Lol don't ask why.
